How are you narrating your story? What do you want it to tell?

Every life is unfolding in real time shaped by the moments we choose to honor, the truths we allow ourselves to speak, and the stories we claim as our own. The way you tell your story matters. It influences how you’re seen, how you’re remembered, and how you see yourself becoming.

At Live for the Plot, storytelling is about intention. It’s about choosing to be the author instead of the footnote. Whether through imagery, words, or the powerful space where they meet, this work invites you to step into visibility on your terms.

Maddy Ullman

Adopted from Hong Kong, Maddy Ullman is a disability in film consultant/advocate, photographer, and storyteller based in Dallas, Texas. Passionate about disability representation in media, Maddy recently contributed to the film WISH, featuring the first visibly disabled Asian-American character. With experience working with major studios like Netflix, Warner Brothers, and Disney, Maddy brings a unique perspective to the industry, shaped by her experiences living with cerebral palsy and diabetes. She is dedicated to advancing authentic disability representation across film and media.

Through the Lens & the Page

Maddy’s work exists at the intersection of art and advocacy. Every photograph and every story is created with care, curiosity, and respect for lived experience. Rather than flattening people into poses or narratives that feel performative, her approach centers authenticity capturing presence, complexity, and humanity.

This is storytelling that resists stereotypes.
That challenges invisibility.
That makes room for nuance, agency, and truth.

Whether collaborating with individuals, creatives, or organizations, Maddy brings a cinematic eye and a deeply human perspective to every project.

Disability Advocacy & Media Work

Storytelling is a powerful tool for change.

Through her work as a disability consultant and advocate, Maddy partners with creatives and studios to push for representation that is authentic, informed, and lived-in. Not symbolic or surface-level. This work extends beyond the frame, shaping narratives that influence culture, visibility, and belonging.

“I didn’t just get photos — I got a piece of my story captured forever. Every image feels like a scene from a film I want to watch over and over again. The experience was effortless, fun, and somehow felt both adventurous and deeply personal. Live for the Plot didn’t just take pictures of me… they told my story in a way I didn’t know I needed.”
